ADVICE PRIOR TO TRANSIT
• Advice on route planning, vessel track monitoring
MUSC constantly monitor high risk regions around the world, tracking pirate activity and marine violence, weather systems, currents, and other factors. These are modelled in our MARSCOM maritime intelligence system and are used to assist in providing advice to ship’s masters and our own security consultants. We will provide advice on the selection of routes to avoid areas where there may be indications of immediate threat, or to take vessels closer to friendly naval units. At the operator’s request we will monitor a vessel’s track and provide a direct 24/7 liaison with the vessel master advising him on route planning, immediate threats and other factors that may impact on the vessel’s security.
• Outline security procedures
MUSC will provide simple instructions and flowcharts to assist ship operators and vessel Masters in the event of attack or hijack. These include:
- Immediate action flowchart
- Immediate action manual and crisis briefing information
ADVICE DURING TRANSIT
• Provision of transit consultants (onshore)
On receipt of confirmation of a Client’s requirement for
MUSC’s services, MUSC will provide a dedicated Transit Consultant, available on a 24/7 basis for advice to the client and to the ship’s master. The Transit Consultant shall support the Client and master where necessary including liaison with involved military forces and governments and other relevant military units.
