MUSC is the lead advisory body to the Presidential Implementation Committee for Maritime Safety and Security (PICOMMS) of Nigeria, handling the training of security managers, port officials, vessel operators and oil companies, including BP and Shell, in one of the most pirate afflicted regions on earth. Similar strong ties exist between MUSC and EU member states. MUSC also have extensive experience of operating in the Gulf of Aden and have assisted numerous vulnerable vessels through this dangerous area at times of intense pirate activity, protecting seafarers and the reputations of ship operators alike.
